We visited adventure Island in Southend for their superhero weekend.

I was very pleasantly surprised, we arrived around 11am to a superhero welcome at the entrance next to the helter skelter slide, the girls ran down the hill with so excitement it was so lovely to see, we popped to get our wristbands and then straight onto their first ride, I was so surprised at how many rides they had for their age group, it was perfect, they even dragged me on a few!

It’s the ONLY free entry park in the uk so perfect for family days out and the girls Nan and grandad who came along but didn’t want to go on any rides

In the middle of either side of the park, they have a massive indoors part now, with rides, arcade and big soft play that’s all included in your wristband price.

There’s plenty to eat and drink in and out the park, and you have to grab some donuts while you’re there, we ate chips overlooking the lagoon which was another new addition I’ve never seen before, it’s next to the entrance we went in which I mentioned earlier, and it’s a man made lagoon on a sandy beach area with a small park, deck chairs and very useful tap for washing off sandy toes. It’s a must do in the summer and the girls loved it, so bring a costume and towel with you!

As part of their superhero weekend they had all their staff dressed up as different superhero’s which was so fun spotting, a superhero fancy dress competition, singing and dancing and free.. YES FREE face painting and temporary tattoos, as well as colouring pages and pencils on some picnic tables located next to the face painting. we will definitely be back!
